Dubai, UAE – April 26, 2025 — In a milestone moment for grassroots journalism, news.bastaki.co has published its first Citizen Report, marking the beginning of a new chapter in local news coverage.
This initiative invites everyday people — students, farmers, shopkeepers, elders, and youth — to share stories, concerns, and observations from their communities. The inaugural report, submitted by a resident of Bastak, reflects the power of firsthand accounts and sheds light on an issue that might otherwise go unnoticed.

The Citizen Report section is open to submissions in Local Languages and English and aims to become a vibrant platform for civic awareness, cultural expression, and social accountability across the region.
