<p>Hot start to May gives way to significant rainfall, with egg-sized hailstones reportedly hitting Slavonski Brod in Croatia</p><p>Southern and south-eastern Europe have experienced a spate of thunderstorms that have resulted in significant rainfall and hail across parts of the Balkans.
