Putin wants Russia to hold direct talks with Ukraine on May 15

After three years of war, Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday proposed holding “direct negotiations” with Ukraine in Istanbul next week on Thursday, May 15. His announcement comes just hours after Kyiv and European leaders called for an unconditional 30-day ceasefire to begin on Monday.
