US backs Russia at UN, further breaking from Ukraine, EU

In another sign of US President Donald Trump's shift away from Ukraine and its European allies, the US pushed through its own Security Council resolution, which refuses to frame Russia as the aggressor in its invasion of Ukraine. While European leaders scored a "moral" victory in the General Assembly, both the UK and France withheld from vetoing the Security Council resolution.
