US supreme court tosses death sentence and murder conviction of Oklahoma prisoner
<p>Richard Glossip to get new trial, say justices, as prosecutors didn’t turn over evidence that could have bolstered defense</p><p>The US supreme court on Tuesday threw out the murder conviction and <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/world/capital-punishment">death penalty</a> for Richard Glossip, an Oklahoma man who has steadfastly maintained his innocence and averted multiple attempts by the state to execute him.</p><p>The decision marked an extraordinary turnaround for a death row prisoner who has faced nine execution dates set by Oklahoma and eaten three “last meals”.
