‘Smoke and confusion’: exhibition points out Jane Austen’s true thoughts on Bath
<p>Georgian city is not shy of milking its links with the author, but actually she was not happy during her time there</p><p>The city of Bath does not fight shy of promoting its Jane Austen connections, tempting in visitors from around the world by organising <a href="https://visitbath.co.uk/blog/read/2025/04/how-to-celebrate-jane-austens-250th-birthday-in-bath-b57">tours, balls, afternoon teas</a> and writing and embroidery workshops inspired by the author.
