Conservative Christian leader James Dobson, who founded Focus on the Family and was once called "the nation's <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2005/01/01/politics/evangelical-leader-threatens-to-use-his-political-muscle-against.html" target="_blank">most influential evangelical leader</a>," died Thursday.
