Moscow says West 'definitely cannot' deploy protective troops in Ukraine
The Kremlin on Friday said that Ukraine's Western allies "definitely cannot" deploy protective troops on Ukrainian soil if a ceasefire is reached, as 26 nations on Thursday pledged to do. The meeting of the "coalition of the willing" was a new push led by French President Emmanuel Macron to show that Europe can act independently of the US.
