Top supreme leader aide dead: Iran's Ali Shamkhani was target of an Israeli strike

A top advisor to Iran's supreme leader has died after being injured in an Israeli attack. That's according to government affiliated media reports. Ali Shamkhani previously served as the national security chief for a decade. He also represented Iran during landmark talks to restore diplomatic relations with Saudi Arabia. Shamkhani was critically injured in an Israeli attack on Tehran -- and has succumbed to his injuries.
