The BBC's experts and correspondents answered your questions about the recent strikes the US carried out against Iran, and what it means for the wider region.

Answering a question about the consequences of the US attack on Iran, chief international correspondent Lyse Doucet said this is "major turning point in the 45-year-old standoff" between the two countries.

BBC World Affairs Editor John Simpson was asked how it compares to conflict in Iraq and he said it's "a different case", particularly the speed at which things have unfolded.
