Iranian nuclear sites 'obliterated' by strikes, claims US defence secretary
America's defence secretary has reiterated Donald Trump's claim that US strikes "obliterated" three nuclear facilities in Iran, despite ongoing international debate over how much damage was done.
Speaking at a news conference at the Pentagon, Pete Hegseth said: "You want to call it destroyed, you want to call it defeated, you want to call it obliterated - choose your word, this was a historically successful attack."
However, Iran continues to deny the effectiveness of the US attacks, with the country's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei claiming earlier in a televised speech that they "failed to achieve anything significant".
