Mourners hold vigil to mark three years since murder of Zara Aleena
A vigil has been held to mark three years since the death of Zara Aleena, who was murdered on her way home from a night out in Ilford in east London.
The 35-year-old law graduate was sexually assaulted and killed in June 2022 by Jordan McSweeney, who had recently been let out of prison and should have been back inside after breaching the conditions of his release.
Zara's aunt, Farah Naz, told Sky's Emma Birchley the murder was "needless" - and the silent vigil was also a "protest" against the criminal justice system, which she believes "failed" her niece.
