Turkiye’s wildfires force evacuations as emergency crews battle blazes in Hatay and Izmir

Wildfires have erupted along Turkiye’s western coastline, with the first major blaze of the season breaking out in the hills of the Foca district in Izmir. The fires have destroyed homes and businesses, displacing residents and devastating rural communities. In Hatay, emergency crews continue to battle spreading flames, struggling to contain the damage. Families like the Ordu family have watched their rural lives reduced to ashes within minutes.
