Paris opens Seine for swimming after 100 years

Swimmers in Paris are now able to take a dip in the Seine — for the first time in more than 100 years. Three designated sites along the river will allow Parisians and tourists to cool off during the summer months. The new swimming spots are part of a legacy project linked to the 2024 Olympics, after more than a billion dollars was invested to clean up the river and make it safe.

Al Jazeera’s Natacha Butler reports from Paris.
