King Charles welcomes French president Emmanuel Macron to the UK for a state visit

France's president Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte Macron will pay a state visit to the UK this week.

The King and Queen, along with Royals including the Prince and Princess of Wales, will host them at events throughout the day - including laying a wreath at Westminster Abbey's grave of the Unknown Warrior.

Macron will also address Parliament at 1600 UK time and hold talks with Prime Minister Keir Starmer about defense, investment, and how to stop small boats from crossing the English Channel.

The day ends with a State Banquet at Windsor Castle. The state visit runs from 8-10 July.
