Mosul Airport reopens after 11 years of war and ISIL occupation
After more than a decade of closure due to war and ISIL occupation, Mosul Airport in northern Iraq has officially reopened. Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani inaugurated the restored facility, marking a significant milestone in the city's post-war recovery. Once a major battleground, Mosul is now looking ahead, with locals hoping the airport will revitalize the local economy and reconnect the region with the world.
Al Jazeera’s Mahmoud AbdelWahed reports from Mosul.
