Co-leader of German far-right AfD party urges government to step up deportation of Syrians | DW News
On Sunday, Alice Weidel, the co-leader of German far-right party Alternative for Germany (AfD), sat down for an interview with German public broadcaster ARD. Weidel criticized the current German coalition's already restrictive migration policies, asserting the government had not deported enough people from the country. Weidel claimed "215,00 Syrians - the equivalent of an entire city have been told to leave." The AfD has been designated as a "right-wing extremist" party by Germany's Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution, a classification they dispute.
DW Correspondent Matthew Moore discusses Weidel's interview on the AfD's migration policy aims.
