'It's very common to see starvation used as a weapon', says World Peace Foundation director

A fifth of the children in Gaza City are malnourished and more than 100 people, most of them youngsters, have reportedly died of hunger there, the UN has said.

Yalda Hakim spoke to Professor Alex de Waal, the Executive Director of the World Peace Foundation about the situation in Gaza.

de Waal said "In 40 years I have never seen such a minutely precisely targeted use of starvation and rations...to try and dismantle the very social structures of the community that people live in".
