Benjamin Netanyahu sets out his plans to take full military control of Gaza

Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has set out his plans to take full military control of Gaza.

Speaking ahead of a key meeting with his security cabinet, he said Israel doesn't want to keep the territory, or govern it but it wants a security perimeter.

Hamas claims Netanyahu wants to sacrifice the lives of hostages still held in Gaza while the United Nations has warned an all-out military occupation of the territory would have "catastrophic consequences".
