Israel's military says it targeted and killed Al Jazeera’s Anas al-Sharif, claiming he led a Hamas cell. Both al-Sharif and the news channel have long rejected Israel's accusations. Press freedom groups and the UN had earlier warned his life was at risk over his Gaza reporting.
