Syria: What led to the Alawite massacre after avoiding it for four months? • FRANCE 24 English

At least 745 civilians, including women and children, 125 members of the Syrian security forces and 148 pro-Assad fighters have been killed in the most serious violence in Syria since an Islamist-led coalition seized power on 8 December and deposed President Bashar al-Assad. It happenend  in the Alawite heartland on the Mediterranean coast, as France 24 journalist Wassim Nasr explains.
