Contaminated fentanyl kills nearly 100 patients in Argentina

Nearly one hundred patients at hospitals around Argentina have died after being treated with contaminated fentanyl. Investigators fear the number of confirmed victims could rise after it was revealed that tens of thousands of vials of the anesthetic, used as a painkiller, were tainted. The owner of the company that produced the fentanyl has been arrested.

Al Jazeera’s Daniel Schweimler reports from La Plata, just south of the Argentinean capital.
