Famine in Gaza 'manmade crisis' says statement by all UN Security Council members but US | BBC News

All members of the United Nations Security Council, with the exception of the United States, have said the famine in Gaza is "manmade".

The council's statement also urged Israel to lift all restrictions on aid immediately.

Israel has previously accused international aid agencies like the UN of not picking up aid waiting at Gaza's border, pointing to the hundreds of trucks sitting idle with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu repeatedly denying starvation is taking place in Gaza.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has chaired a meeting in Washington DC about the future of Gaza with his son-in-law and former Middle East envoy Jared Kushner and former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair.
