Resident Evil and Silent Hill developers on how survival horror games are surviving | BBC News

In a world of Fortnite, Grand Theft Auto and Call of Duty, how have survivor horror's like Resident Evil and Silent Hill managed to stand the test of time and survive?

We went to Gamescom in Germany to see why fans of horror survivals love them so much and how the developers of Silent Hill f and Resident Evil: Requiem manage to keep survival horrors fresh for old fans, as well as new.

The BBC's Laura Cress also asked Silent Hill f's producers about the comparisons being drawn between the latest release and Dark Souls when it comes to combat and other factors in its gameplay.

Meanwhile, Resident Evil's developers reveal how they dealt with the criticism survival horrors were becoming "too action" based.
