Chancellor Merz contradicts Merkel: 'In many ways, Germany didn't make it' | DW News

According to a new study from the German Institute for Economic Research, refugees and migrants feel increasingly unwelcome in Germany. While 84 per cent of migrants felt welcome in 2017, this figure had fallen to 65 per cent by 2023. This comes as Germany marks ten years since Angela Merkel's famous 'Wir schaffen das' ('We can do it') motto, with which she welcomed millions of refugees fleeing conflict.
