Gaza’s school year begins in tents as Israeli bombardment destroys 90% of schools

September no longer marks the beginning of a new school year in Gaza – it marks another chapter of survival.
Israeli bombardment has damaged or destroyed nearly 90 percent of schools across the Strip and hundreds of thousands of young people are missing out on an education.
Despite the numerous challenges and lack of resources, teachers are giving classes in tents, hoping to make a difference.

Al Jazeera’s Ibrahim al-Khalili went to one temporary classroom in Gaza City to meet some of the children who are refusing to let war define their future.
