At least 800 people killed as earthquake hits eastern Afghanistan

A major earthquake in Afghanistan has killed more than 800 people, most of them in the northeastern Kunar province.
The epicentre was near the city of Jalalabad - it measured 6 on the Richter scale and was relatively shallow.
Extensive damage has been reported, and rescuers are struggling to reach the remote mountainous area, which is cut off from mobile networks.
