Severe flooding in Punjab destroys rice crops worth billions, rescue efforts underway

Weeks of intense monsoon rains have caused severe flooding across India’s northern region of Punjab. Vast areas are submerged, homes and roads damaged, and rescue teams are working to evacuate residents. Farmers face catastrophic losses, with rice crops valued at billions of USD ruined.
