Qatar denies White House claims that US informed Doha about Israeli strikes
A member of Hamas's political bureau told Al Jazeera earlier that the group was meeting at the time of the attack with “a positive outlook” on the American ceasefire proposal.
He also said the group holds the American administration responsible for the attack.
White House Press secretary Karoline Leavitt has been speaking in her regular press briefing - she has been asked about this Israeli strike on Doha.
She said the Israeli strike was “unfortunate” and that Qatar had advance warning of the attack.
Majed al-Ansari, spokesperson for Qatar’s Foreign Ministry, denies the White House claims that the US informed Qatar about the Israeli strikes before they took place.
Al Jazeera’s Charles Stratford has the latest developments from Doha, Qatar and White House Correspondent Kimberly Halkett has more from US perspective.
