Who is behind the nationwide protests in France? | DW News

The French police made hundreds of arrests during a day of nationwide protests. The protesters are angry about the steep spending cuts proposed by President Emmanuel Macron. The protests occurred just two days after Macron's government lost a confidence vote. Macron's appointment of his political ally, Sébastien Lecornu, as prime minister has also fueled anger across the country.
