Mexico’s Sinaloa cartel war displaces thousands

A civil war within the Sinaloa cartel in western Mexico has forced thousands of people to abandon their villages. Rival factions are battling for territory and control. Communities caught in the middle of the violence are demanding change, frustrated with ongoing insecurity and the lack of effective government response.
