Putin says any Russia-Ukraine ceasefire must lead to ‘long term peace’

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday said that he supports the US push to stop the fighting, but some issues need to be discussed.
Putin said any ceasefire should lead to long-lasting peace and would have to deal with the root causes of the conflict.
Putin said that he agrees to an end to this conflict, but there has to be a long-term solution. He said that he needs to speak to US President Trump as he has several questions and concerns regarding this deal moving forward.
He also said monitoring the violations of a ceasefire is going to be very complicated. He also said some issues require research on both sides.
