UNGA : A historic moment for Syria

Ibrahim Olabi, Syria’s ambassador to the United Nations, joins Al Jazeera live from New York. He described the president’s speech as a ‘historic moment,’ marking Syria’s return to the UN after decades. Olabi said sanctions are largely lifted and emphasised that Syria is now ‘open for business,’ while acknowledging challenges ahead, including gradual steps toward inclusive governance and elections.
