BritCard: Who's in opposition to Digtal IDs and where did the idea come from?
It's understood that the prime minister will give the green light for plans to introduce compulsory digital ID cards for all adults in the UK.
The plans will be set out in more detail by Sir Keir Starmer, who has been swayed into approving them in order to tackle illegal migration - having originally harboured concerns about civil liberties.
We look at where the idea for their implementation first came from and who's in opposition of the idea.
