Starmer says the UK is at a 'crossroads' and there is a 'battle for the soul of this country'

People will need digital ID in order to work in the UK by the end of the Parliament, Sir Keir Starmer has confirmed.

Speaking at a summit in London, the PM said the immigration system needed to be "fair" or it would undermine "people's faith that we're on their side".
