Manipur’s ethnic clashes persist as government pushes for free movement

Ethnic tensions continue to grip India’s northeastern state of Manipur, effectively partitioning the region as violence between rival groups escalates. Trade and travel remain blocked, with communities refusing to cross into opposing territories. Last week, one protester was killed in clashes following the home minister’s attempt to enforce unrestricted movement on all roads.
