Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff is in Moscow to discuss the US peace plan with Vladimir Putin. Washington is pushing for a quick end to the war — now in its fourth year. Putin has said he agreed "in principle" with a US-backed proposal for a 30-day ceasefire in the Ukraine war, but stressed that "serious questions" remain. Kyiv has called Putin's comments "manipulative."
