Inside Afghanistan's Hidden Emergency | BBC News

There has been a silent surge in child deaths due to malnutrition in Afghanistan.

After USAID cuts earlier this year, foreign aid has dipped to its lowest in decades, and hundreds of clinics have been shuttered, cutting off some of the poorest from medical care.

WFP says eight or nine other donors who funded Afghanistan in the last two years have also stopped this year, and many others are giving much less than they were last year.

One reason is donors are responding to a number of global crises - but the Taliban government's policies also affect how much the world is willing to help.

The BBC’s Yogita Limaye reports.

Filmed and edited by Sanjay Ganguly.
