Palestinians wait to receive food at a community kitchen in central Gaza

One week since a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas went into effect, Palestinians were still grappling with the dire humanitarian situation in the battered enclave. In the central city of Deir al-Balah, scores of displaced Palestinians crowded around a charity kitchen Thursday, holding bowls and pots, waiting in front of large vats of rice.
