'A new era of threats' as MI5 boss warns threats are escalating

In an annual speech Sir Ken McCallum warned that threats from China, Russia and Iran are escalating.

But it's not just hostile states trying to inflict harm, as the MI5 boss offered his sympathy to those affected by the Manchester terrorist attack.

Sir Ken McCallum said, "in 2025, MI5 is contending with more volume and more variety of threat from terrorist and state actors than I've ever seen".
