US sanctions Russian oil firms as Trump explains tomahawk missile decision

Donald Trump has announced new sanctions on Russia's biggest oil companies.

It said the sanctions, which include designating Rosneft and Lukoil, had been imposed due to "Russia's lack of serious commitment to a peace process to end the war in Ukraine".

The decision followed a meeting between the US president and NATO chief Mark Rutte.
