Why Fed Rate Cuts Aren’t Helping Most Americans

The Federal Reserve has signaled that it may reduce the federal funds rate through 2026. As a result, U.S. households could soon see cheaper financing terms for cars, homes, student loans and more. These decisions can also lead to faster asset price increases. Economists say that past Fed decisions continue to disadvantage households that hold their wealth in cash or bonds.
