US says it will use ‘overwhelming lethal force’ on Yemen’s Houthis
Hundreds of thousands protested in Yemen against the latest US strikes, which entered their third day, targeting Houthi sites. The Pentagon confirmed over 30 Houthi targets were hit, causing military casualties but denied civilian harm despite evidence. The US also intercepted 11 Houthi drones targeting warships. President Trump blamed Iran for directing Houthi actions, warning of "dire consequences." The White House reinforced the message, vowing zero tolerance for attacks on commercial or naval vessels. The Houthis had paused Red Sea attacks since the Gaza ceasefire but warned of resuming if Israel continued blocking aid. The Pentagon stated operations would persist until the Houthis cease their attacks.
