Gaza students return to school amid destruction, loss, as ceasefire halts Israel’s devastating war

The 2024-2025 academic year in Gaza began amid severe challenges, with schools destroyed by Israeli air raids. Despite harsh conditions, over 300 students attended a school that had been repeatedly targeted. Many students have lost their homes, families, and even parents during the ongoing conflict. However, parents, teachers, and students are determined to continue their education. The school building still houses displaced civilians who have no alternative shelter. Despite the suffering and trauma, these children are resolute in resuming their studies.
