What conditions are the Sudanese Armed Forces demanding for a ceasefire with the RSF? | DW News

An end could be in sight for the Sudan's bloody two-year conflict. The paramilitary Rapid Support Forces, who have been battling the army since 2023, say they have agreed to a proposal for a humanitarian truce put forward by mediators. This comes days after they captured the major city of el-Fasher, pushing the army out of its last stronghold in the western Darfur region. The paramiltary has been accused of mass killings, looting and sexual violence. Millions have been displaced.

DW spoke to Dallia Abddelmoneim, political analyst, on how close the two actors are to agreeing to a truce.
