As Democrats and Republicans in Washington squabble, New York's mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani has vowed his city will lead the oppostion against the Trump administration. In an increasingly divided country, Mamdanis's campaign confronted the lack of unity head on, including a rise in Islamophobia, while rallying voters who’d long felt unseen.
