Lammy defends his PMQs response to prisons question
Justice Secretary David Lammy has announced new measures to crack down on "mistaken releases" from prison.
The deputy prime minister also defended his decision not to reveal that he knew about the accidental release of a prisoner who was also an asylum seeker.
Mr Lammy was asked five times during Wednesday's PMQs whether any other prisoners had been freed after migrant sex offender Hadush Kebatu was released by mistake on 24 October.
He side-stepped the questions, saying on Thursday he "did not have all the details" and did not want to mislead the public.
