Germany commemorates November 1938 pogroms and fall of the Berlin Wall | DW News
November 9th marks the anniversary of two crucial dates in German history: the "Mauerlfall" or fall of the Berlin Wall on November 9th, 1989, and the November pogroms, which were perpetrated by the Nazis against Jews during the night of November 9th going into November 10th, 1938. During a German Parliament ceremony on Sunday, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier discussed the significance of these two dates in German history, as well as the challenges currently facing German democracy.
