House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries holds a news conference as the U.S. government shutdown enters its 42nd day. The U.S. Senate passed a bipartisan funding bill on Monday night (Nov. 10) to reopen the government and fund operations through January 30, 2026. The bill now heads to the House of Representatives, which is expected to vote as early as Wednesday, Nov. 12.
