Is the military buildup level rather proportionate to Washington's goal of fighting drugs? | DW News

The Trump administration is increasing pressure on Venezuela by accusing President Nicolás Maduro's regime of trafficking drugs to the U.S.
Fifteen thousand U.S. soldiers are now stationed in the region. Fifteen US naval vessels, including the USS Gerald Ford—the largest aircraft carrier in the US fleet, capable of carrying up to 90 planes—are also stationed off the Venezuelan coast.
